Updated May 19, 2026 · Project Mayhem · Atlanta
Black Atlanta's Memorial Day weekend 2026 lineup is led by Atlanta Caribbean Carnival (Sat May 23, Rodney Cook Sr. Park), Reggae Fest Massive ATL with Mavado + Beenie Man + Spice at State Farm Arena (Sat May 23), the RnB Block Party Sunday May 24, the 4th Annual RnB Cookout at Grant Park (Mon May 25 noon), and Project Mayhem — the Memorial Day Monday pool party by Mayhem World Entertainment in Fairburn (3–10 PM, cabanas from $350, GA $20, Ladies Free Before 5 PM RSVP for the first 100).

The Atlanta Memorial Day cultural calendar

Atlanta is the Black cultural capital of the South and Memorial Day weekend is one of its biggest weekends of the year. The 2026 slate spans the full weekend across festivals, arena shows, day parties, cookouts, and pool parties — most produced by or anchoring Black promoters and venues.

Saturday — Caribbean Carnival + Reggae Fest

Saturday May 23 is anchored by two major Black cultural events:

  • Atlanta Caribbean Carnival at Rodney Cook Sr. Park in Historic Vine City — all-day celebration with costumes, parade, music, food. Free admission.
  • Reggae Fest Massive ATL at State Farm Arena — Mavado, Busy Signal, Beenie Man, Spice, Elephant Man, Ding Dong, Vanessa Bling. Ticketed arena show.

Sunday — RnB Block Party + cookouts

Sunday May 24 is RnB day:

  • RnB Block Party ATL — Sunday 12–6 PM outdoor day party
  • R&B Seafood Block Party at Underground Atlanta
  • Multiple smaller cookouts and Sunday Fundays across the metro

Monday — Project Mayhem + RnB Cookout

Memorial Day Monday May 25 is where the calendar thins out — most weekend events end Sunday. The two anchors on Monday are:

  • 4th Annual RnB Cookout (Ladies Love RnB) at Grant Park, starting noon — outdoor, family-feel cookout
  • Project Mayhem at the Fairburn pool venue, 3–10 PM — 1,000-cap pool party, cabanas from $350, GA $20, Ladies Free Before 5 PM RSVP (first 100 ladies)

Project Mayhem is produced by Mayhem World Entertainment, the Atlanta-based events + media company founded by Devon Wallace (Mr. Mayhem). MWE also produces The Mayhem Ball (Atlanta's signature Black-tie gala) and Cinco de Mayhem.

Why Project Mayhem on Monday

Monday is the day the calendar belongs to the people who actually want to be there. The festivals are gone, the Saturday and Sunday tourists are headed back, and Atlanta resets. Project Mayhem is the cap event because:

  • It's the only Monday pool party with cabanas and bottle service
  • The shuttle handles the logistics — no driving from a long weekend
  • Security is heavily enforced + Atlanta PD on-site (matters for a large Black crowd)
  • The crowd is by-and-for Black ATL — Compound / Magic City / Edgewood Sundays energy
